Yellow fingers tap
At the ash
A shit stained burn
Marks all that’s past

Time measured by smoked
Down fags
Of papers and ashes
And snot filled rags

Tobacco ashes,
Dust to dust
Old medals lie
Until they rust

Time and heart run to an end
Hum drum drum drum
Chimney ash
All souls ascend

A greasy window
Rubbed holes for a view
A porthole a peephole

For some tattooed Jew

Holocaust Remembrance Day marks the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camps in 1945.

In Israel, the Knesset made Holocaust Remembrance Day (also known as Yom Hashoah) a national holiday in 1959.

Yom Hashoah has been observed with speakers, poems prayers, songs, candlelight ceremonies and more tokens of remembrance.

The Holocaust began in 1933 when Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany. It ended in 1945 when Allied powers defeated the Nazis.

Jewish people were excluded from public life on September 15th, 1935 when the Nuremberg Laws were issued. These laws also stripped German Jews of their citizenship and their right to marry Germans.

Once World War II began, the Nazis ordered all Jews to wear a yellow Star of David on their clothing so they could be easily targeted.

Jews were forced to live in specific areas of the city called ghettos after the beginning of World War ll. In the larger ghettos, up to 1,000 people a day were picked up and brought by train to concentration camps or death camps.

Kristallnacht occurred on November 9th and 10th, 1938. Nazis pillaged, burned synagogues, broke windows of Jewish-owned businesses, and attacked Jewish people in Austria and Germany. 30,000 Jews were arrested and sent to concentration camps.

In prison camps, prisoners were forced to do hard physical labor. Torture and death within concentration camps were common and frequent.

11 million people were killed during the Holocaust (1.1 million children). 6 million of those victims were Jewish. Other groups targeted by the Nazis were Jehovah’s Witnesses, homosexuals, disabled people, and Roma.

Two-thirds of Jewish people living in Europe at the time of World War II were killed by Nazis.

I am, no-one special and in the scheme of things am a blink of an eye on this world of ours. But, and here's the rub, it is the world of 'ours'.

To hate some one for their beliefs and even skin colour seems such a waste. If or when our planet is threatened by some apocalyptic event it will be a global issue. I hope before that we realise that mankind is our nationality.

Banging your head against a wall burns 150 calories an hour.

I wonder what my parents did to fight boredom before the internet. I asked my 14 brothers and sisters and they didn't know either.

Tease The Legend of Chairman Anyhow.

Some say he came from some South American backwater and knew Garibaldi himself; this is partially true as he does love a biscuit.

Some say he was born in the paddy fields to some far-off dynasty, although he always preferred Dallas.

Some say that he is a revolutionist, a great thinker a leader of men.. Most think he has watched far too many movies.

Whatever he is, his agent and close confidant
Neville Raper knows that he is a wonderful man and will in time no doubt win a Nobel Prize for … something or other.

But remember this, in the words of Chairman Anyhow.."Do not ask who the bell tolls for, it tolls for you...now get out of the way of my bike"

.... Coming Soon.........................
