Here is a silly poem, by Marjory Lacy, I love the structure and look of this piece along with the humour.......enjoy...

Scandal of the Candle.

“Just look at her!”
“Where”. “Over there!
“All boob job and facelift
Low cut top and short skirt,
High heels, hair overworked!
Her birthday, look at that candle,
What a scandal She’s old enough
To have turned an old fashioned mangle!

International Superman Day !
(Little known fact about me.....I've collected comic books since I was ten, I now have thousands !!)

Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.'
Look! Up in the sky!
It's a bird!
It's a plane!
It's Superman!"

Or Clark Kent in his undies!!
Created by Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegal in 1933.This iconic character has gone through many changes, but has never left his core value of truth and justice.

His symbol 'S' is one of the most recognised brand's in the world, and adorns everything from T Shirts to Tattoos!.

First published in comic book form on 18th April 1938, if you still have that comic book,  that you paid just 10 cents for, You'll be pleased to know that it's now worth $3.2 million, £2.5 million pounds.
Not bad for a boy from Smallville.

So how do we celebrate, there is only one way. Wear you knickers outside your tights and try and avoid anything green. I've got a head start as I wear glasses, although if I take mine off, I'll fly into a tree.

Question Impossible

This is where I ask you a question, it's pretty hard, in fact, almost impossible.....Can you answer it ?

Who was the 1st actor to portray Superman?
Answer below...

Superman Facts

In the 1940's the US government asked that all mention of Kryptonite be removed from Superman comics, in case it put the fear of radioactivity into the readers.

We all know where Clark Kent works, The Daily Planet, but who owns the newspaper? Bruce Wayne Enterprises....better known of course, as Batman.

In the original comic book Superman couldn't fly, but he was a great jumper.

In 1997, Nicolas Cage earned $20 Million to play Superman in Superman Lives, even though he never actually played Superman because the movie got cancelled.

Top 10 Superman Villains

10 Cyborg Superman - also known as "The Cyborg" is an evil counterpart to Superman with a robotic body designed using Kryptonian technology and genetics.

9 - Mr Mxyptlk -  hails from the 5th Dimension, and has powers beyond imagining. Seeking amusement, he routinely challenges and otherwise annoys Superman

8 - Braniac - sometimes also known as Milton Fine or as the Brain InterActive Construct to Kryptonians, is a robotic/computerized supervillain, who is one of Superman's main nemeses.

7 - Metallo - He was formerly a human criminal named John Corben but is now merely a brain within a robotic body. He is powered by a Kryptonite heart.

6 - Parasite - has the ability to temporarily absorb the energy, knowledge and super-powers of another being by touch, making him a formidable adversary for the Man of Steel.

5 - Bizarro - A mirror image of Superman, Has all his powers, but non of his intellect.

4 - General Zod - General Dru-Zod is a general in the Kryptonian Army. However, Zod had ambitions to take over the planet Krypton and had little respect for the Kryptonian Council, and as such was banished to the Phantom Zone. For this reason he survived the planet's destruction.

3 - Doomsday - A seemingly unstoppable behemoth who adapts to overcome and destroy anything or anyone in his path. The infamous Doomsday Vs. Superman battle in the Death of Superman saga from DC is among the most famous of all comic books.

1 - Lex Luther - Lex Luthor has been Superman's arch enemy for most of the superhero's existence. He has been envisioned as Superman's dual opposite; morally depraved and relying on intellect over strength. Rather than harnessing his genius for good, Luthor seizes power for his own benefit and is a threat at large. Though originally portrayed as a rogue scientist, he was later rewritten as a Machiavellian industrialist and white-collar criminal (even briefly serving as President of the United States).

Question Impossible

I asked who was the first actor to portray Superman.
