With two poems about cats

The Cat.      

                      

I watch them, statue still

As they watch the birds

In the bird bath.

They stare so intently

Choosing which to kill.

The unwary birds

Flap and dry

Their wings.

Cats in my garden.     

  

I know they have been

They leave behind

Feathers of a dead bird

Clear evidence of

Their crime.

Later, cat sunbathes

On the garage roof

Hunger satisfied.

CATS CAN HEAL BONES

Frequencies of 20 to 50 Hertz are helpful in speeding the healing process of bone injuries. Cat's purr vibrations which range from 20 – 140 Hertz, can help heal soft tissue injuries to ligaments, tendons and muscles. 

CATS HAVE ACUTE SNIFFERS

A cat’s sense of smell is 14 times more sensitive and stronger than humans. 

CATS ARE FAST

Cats can run at 30 mph or 48 kph which is faster than gold-winning 100 meter world record champion Usain Bolt. 

 CATS ARE SLEEP MASTERS

On average, cats spend around 2/3 of their days sleeping. To give you an idea, a nine-year old cat has been awake for three years of its life. 

CATS ARE VOCAL

Cats can make over 100 different sounds, whereas dogs make around 10. 

CATS CAN’T TASTE SWEETS

Felines lack a sweet tooth, as it is believed that there is a mutation in a key taste receptor that prevents cats from tasting sugar.

CATS ARE ONE-OF-A-KIND

The ridged pattern on cat’s nose is as unique as a human fingerprint. The same applies to dogs.

Do you remember the joy of going to your local video shop and searching the racks only to be told, sorry it's out !?

The memory of having to rewind and you player chewing up tapes !!

Today is the day we celebrate the VCR. But when were they invented ? Well earlier than you think, 1956, bit only came commercially available in the 1970's.

I remember the first VCR I bought was £400 ! Now you can't give them away !!

So celebrate today by getting your old tapes out and marvel at those tracking lines, the grainy picture and mono sound....oh how times have changed.
