Here we have an exciting new writer David Bradshaw.
Feedback would be great...

Doctor Bogle’s Clinic

In Doctor Bogle’s clinic,

Everything is great.

There’s something in the water,

So the atmosphere’s sedate.

And clothing is provided,

So your jacket’s always straight.

Oh! It’s wonderful at Doctor Bogle’s clinic.

In Doctor Bogle’s clinic,

Everyone is calm,

The floor and walls are padded,

So you’ll never come to harm.

And when the Doctor sees you,

It’s a real shot in the arm.

Oh! It’s wonderful at Doctor Bogle’s clinic.

In Doctor Bogle’s clinic,

The pharmacy is stocked.

And for your own security,

The doors are always locked.

And anyone who disagrees,

Is regularly shocked.

Oh! It’s wonderful at Doctor Bogle’s clinic.

In Doctor Bogle’s clinic,

The nurses spread good cheer.

I love the place so very much,

I go there every year.

For once you’ve been lobotomised,

There’s nothing left to fear.

Oh! It’s wonderful at Doctor Bogle’s clinic.

This is Brian Mack

With a very topical Poem

I didn’t want to make political statements in poetry, but this story needs a voice.

Politics morals and common sense

Don’t go hand in hand

No decisions

Just sitting on the fence.

The Windrush generation

Children from the Caribbean

Came with their parents

To help rebuild a war torn nation.

50 years on, distress and dismay

These grown up children

Are being told to go away

Due to Political decisions on illegal migration.

Not designed for a Windrush child

But applied by bureaucrats

Trying to send them home

To a place they have long forgot.

Reason need to be applied

There lives are now intertwined into the UK

Why send them back

Due to some stupid political crack.

They came here as children

After their family came to stay

They didn’t have a personal choice

But we should now give our voice.

They’ve earned the right to stay.

Brian Mack

About me, Well her goes if you can stay awake long enough.

Essentially I’m a techie, all things technical, in the sphere of construction fasteners. See told you, you’re nodding off. If you think of it as a male technical professional that by day provides precise accurate technical advice to international standards and by night throws away these constraints to write freely and creatively as a form of escapism. All my views characters opinions and rants are purely my opinions and do not represent the views or mental rants of others. My words are not meant to be offensive and my characters are all fictitious and do not represent anyone alive or dead or any politicians.

I hope my words are thought provoking, amusing and above all entertaining if not, then please go find some other blogger who is more your cup of tea than me, or coffee or hot chocolate or Red Bull (other branded drinks are available).

Oh and one last note, I’m from Yorkshire, so I sometimes say it as it is. Welcome to my bubble.

This is Marjorie Lacy with Plastic Bag

The Plastic Bag.

The carrier bag is a very useful thing,
for carrying your shopping home.
Once they are empty…. what do
you do with them…  that is the thing??

Do you throw them in the bin?
hide them in a cupboard?
Do you fold them up neatly?
Blow them up and prick with a pin?

Do you let them have freedom?
To live a bag-life, blown by the wind.
So they can fly the thermals to
rival the birds in height and speed.

Is it good for them to have freedom?
Is fair to let them blow and whirl about?
What dangerous adventures they can
have dodging cars on the motorways!

Is it good for them to have freedom?
to be stuck in trees, to be deep in the sea.
To be put over heads of murder victims?
Or worse, the self-harm of suicides?

Plastic bags alone can live for ever.
They do not choose to biodegrade.
What will the Geo-phiz of future
generations make of our plastic bags?

Marjorie is a writer and poet and, along with her husband Roy, have published
the international best seller, "De-lacy Chronicles"

This is Jacki Spencer with Morning

Morning.

The Radio Alarm starts singing.

We awake, yawning!

Who needs the toilet first - going,

Flushing and hand washing,

Puts the kettle on, - boiling,

Coffee making.

Curtains opening,

Then, sitting in bed drinking

Out of the window - looking

What is today’s weather doing?

Is it worth getting out and dressing?

Is it worth our day starting?

Yes!, here we are - coming!

My poem is based on Grace Nichols poem Morning. (We no longer have milkmen postmen delivering before breakfast!!)

The wonderful Sharon Shields with 'Fool'

Fool

And I think I'm entitled to love
Fool!
It bypasses me
takes detours
stops at other places
other hearts
and leaves me
alone
wandering
looking in the wrong places
at the wrong people
in the hope that one day
I won't be that fool
